After the Android 2.3 Gingerbread source code provided by Google has been released to the public, the developers started to make efforts so that the new Android Gingerbread version can be ported into other smartphones other than Google Nexus S. One who had the chance to try out this Gingerbread update is Samsung Galaxy S.

The unofficial Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system ported into Samsung Galaxy S is seen to work pretty well. Animations and menu transitions flow smoothly. However, some features is still not active such as GPS, camera, sound, wifi, and some not responding buttons. These features that have not been active is currently being enabled by the developers at XDA Developers.
